Meru Central Coffee Co-operative Union (MCCCU) plays the role of a service provider (advice, farm inputs and credits) to the primary Co-operative societies. Their perspective to business has grown and they have started to roast some of its own coffee in a small coffee roastery. 
The long term strategy of the union is to sell this coffee both in the local and national market in Kenya and other upcoming markets. It also aims selling packaged roasted coffee beans to local shops and supermarket chains. MCCCU already has the roasting license and they are planning to open a few coffee shops in Meru and neighboring towns as well as develop a workable supply chain. 
The union has laid heavy investment in real estate, a business that is expected to grow into the future due to a surge in demand of housing. -
